BIO

Lucas Combina was born in Monteros, Province of Córdoba (Argentina), in 1978. His interest for photography led him to study Cinema and TV at the National University of Córdoba. In 2005, he moved to Chile, where he participated in several film projects that received support from Chileian public funds. In 2006 he returned to Córdoba to direct the short film El verde con los botones forrados, an adaptation of a short story by Roberto Fontanarrosa, who collaborated in the scriptwriting process. In 2011 he became part of the TV series La purga’s production team, which was made with the support of the National Film Institute (INCAA, as per its Spanish acronym). In 2012 he joined the production team of Canal Encuentro’s TV series Canción urgente, directed by Sergio Schmucler and presented by Argentine singer Liliana Herrero. In 2014 he directed Canal Encuentro’s docu-reality series about rock bands, Mi banda, for which he made eight music-videos. He wrote and directed the fiction TV series La chica que limpia (2017), which won a Federal Martín Fierro Award in 2017, was also selected for the 2018 International EMMY Awards, and was nominated for a 2019 Condor de Plata Award. He also directed the documentary TV series En el nombre del pueblo, shot across nine Latin American countries, and Expedición Georgias. Un crimen argentino es his first feature film he directed.
