Juan Carlos Domínguez was born in Buenos Aires in 1970. He graduated from the University of San Martín in 2012 with a Diploma in Documentary Film Making and Production, and in 2019, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Documentary Cinema. He studied History at the University of Buenos Aires. In 2006, he worked as an assistant director on the documentary feature Fusilados en Floresta, directed by Diego Ceballos. In 2007, he premiered his first documentary production, the medium-length film El trencito de Versalles. In 2008, he released his second documentary work, the medium-length film Por esfuerzo propio, which was awarded by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts and added to the CONTAR platform. In 2011, he premiered his first feature-length documentary, Clase media, which received significant attention at various festivals (such as the 2012 editions of the Santiago Álvarez International Documentary Festival in Cuba and the UNASUR International Film Festival in San Juan, among others). Between 2013 and 2015, he taught at the University of San Martín in the Introduction to Documentary Cinema course. In 2019, he made his second feature-length documentary, La gente quiso un cambio. In 2024, he released his third feature-length documentary, Italpark.
