Ricardo Preve was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 24, 1957. He studied in Argentina, Italy and the US. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in Agronomy and Forestry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. After nearly 20 years as a manager of natural resources companies, he began a filmmaking career in 2001. Since then, he has worked as director, scriptwriter and producer in more than thirty film and TV productions, including Los huesos de Catherine (2015) and Volviendo a casa (2019), which recived awards at several international film festivals. Ricardo is the founder and proprietary of two production companies: Ricardo Preve Films LLC in the US, and Esto del Cine SRL in Argentina.
