BIO

Mariano Galperin was born in Buenos Aires in 1962. From an early age, he began his career as a photographer, exhibiting in artistic and institutional circuits in Buenos Aires. In 1985, he traveled to the United States, where he settled. He studied film at New York University and photography at Parsons School of Design. Upon returning to Argentina, he exhibited at the Iberoamerican Institut for Cooperation, Argentina’s National Museum of Art, the Giesso Studio, the Open Studio Abierto, the Palais de Glace, the Recoleta Cultural Center, Cronopios, the City Of Mexico’s Museum of Modern Art, the Limelight Gallery in New York City, and Arco – Madrid. In 1993, he began his career as a filmmaker. He wrote and directed the feature films 1000 Boomerangs (1994); Chicos ricos (2000); El delantal de Lili (2004); Futuro perfecto (2008); Dulce de leche (2012), which received the Movie City Award at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival; Su realidad (2015), awarded Best Argentine Film at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival; Tertulia Nº250 (2020); and Bill 79 (2022). He also co-directed the film 100 Tragedias (2009) with Sergio Bizzio, and the feature film Todo lo que veo es mío (2017) with Román Podolsky.
