María Belén Tagliabue

BIO

Bela Tagliabue is a graduate of Image and Sound Design from the University of Buenos Aires, and a Director of Cinematohraphy graduated from the Argentine Film Industry Union (SICA, as per its Spanish acronym). She specializes in creating animated content, exploring and combining techniques such as stop motion, pixilation, collage, and hyperlapse. She directed three animated short films: Ámbar (2014), Transmuta (2018), and M2 (2021), as well as the music video Subibaja (2022), for the band Tremor. She worked on El puente (2012), Pixied (2017), Quma y las bestias (2019), Cuatro buenos amigos (2019), Sembrar (2022), and on various independent and commercial projects, animated and live action. She is a founding member of the Argentine Network of Women and Diversities in Animation (RAMA, as per its Spanish acronym) for which she directed two collective short films: En boca de todas (2018) and Veo veo (2019). Since 2017, she has been in charge of creating institutional animated content at the Argentina’s National Ministry of Culture. She is currently part of MOCO studio, where she works as a director and Director of Photography. She is working on her fourth animated stop motion short film made with cutouts and models, called Bar La Matanza, and an animated documentary series with Cez Comerci. She is also a professor at Buenos Aires’ University of Cinema.
