Benjamín Naishtat

BIO

He studied film at the University of Cinema in Buenos Aires. He wrote and directed the following feature films: Rojo (2018), selected in the Official Competition of the San Sebastián Film Festival, winner of the Silver Shell for Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Actor for Darío Grandinetti; El movimiento (2015), with the support of the Jeonju International Film Festival, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and won the award for Best Argentine Film at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, as well as the Jury Prize at the Valdivia Film Festival; he also directed Historia del miedo (2014), presented at the Berlinale’s Official Competition. He recently adapted the short story La Virgen de la Tosquera by Mariana Enríquez and is also preparing an adaptation of Roberto Arlt’s Los siete locos.
