Máximo Ciambella studied Image and Sound Design at Fadu (UBA). He directed Amancay, a fiction feature film that had its world premiere at 23BAFICI where it won the top prize in the Argentine feature film competition. He is co-director of El árbol negro, which premiered at the 33rd Mar del Plata International Film Festival and won three awards, including best Argentine feature film in the official competition and best FIPRESCI film in all competitions. In 2017, his short film Cuento premiered at the Curta Cinema in Rio de Janeiro.
