BIO

Verónica Chen was born in Buenos Aires but grew up in Texas, USA, where she lived until 1981. She studied Classical Literature at the University of Buenos Aires and graduated as a Filmmaker from ENERC. Among her feature films, notable titles include Vagón fumador (Smoking Car, 2001), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival; Agua (Water, 2006), presented at the Locarno International Film Festival; Mujer Conejo (Rabbit Woman, 2013), premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival; Rosita (2018), screened at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival; and Marea alta (High Tide, 2020), which premiered in the International Competition of the Sundance Festival, and is part of "El Cuarteto de la Costa" (The Coast Quartet), a group of four standalone but thematically linked films which share some of their characters.
