Sol Martínez was born in Buenos Aires in 1972. The son of artist parents, he developed an early interest in cinema. At the age of 16, he directed Rouge, a short film shot on Super 8 mm. Later in adulthood, he decided to leave his medical career to pursue studies in filmmaking at CIEVYC (Center for Research and Experimentation in Video and Cinema). He directed the films Route 512, Desde adentro, Natural Selection, Sola Mía, El poeta en la luna, and La cobardía de los traidores.
