BIO

Rodrigo Moreno is an Argentine filmmaker born and based in Buenos Aires. His films were awarded and exhibited in several film festivals like Berlinale, Donostia/San Sebastian, Toronto, Sundance, Rotterdam, Viennale, New Directors / New Films, London, among many others. His work was also exhibited at MoMA, Guggenheim Museum, Anthology Film Archives and Lincoln Center (USA), Centre Pompidou (France) and Haus der Welt (Germany). He directed five feature films and several shorts, one of them as part of the anthology film Mala época (1999). He participated twice in the official competition at the Berlinale, where he won the Alfred Bauer Prize for Most Innovative Film for El custodio (2006). He served as associate producer for his first three films (El descanso, Un mundo misterioso, and the aforementioned El custodio), until in 2012 he created Compañía Amateur, a platform through which in 2014 he produced Réimon (premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival the same year and screened at over twenty international festivals); and in 2017, Una ciudad de provincia (which received a Special Mention from the Jury at BAFICI and premiered at the Viennale that same year). In 2019 he started shooting Los delincuentes, a coproduction between Rizoma, Wanka Cine, and Jirafa de Chile; and also made the essay film Vida céntrica, co-directed with Bruno Dubner.
