Julia Pesce holds a degree in Audiovisual Media Production from the National University of Córdoba. Her first film, Nosotras/Ellas, premiered at Visions Du Reel (Switzerland, 2015). With this film, she won the Special Jury Prize at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival (Japan, 2015). Nosotras/Ellas was featured in various festivals and showcases around the world (Turin International Film Festival, True/False Film Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, Doc Buenos Aires, Antofadocs, among others); and also won the Best Documentary Award at the Malaga International Film Festival (Spain, 2016). She is currently developing two projects; her second documentary project, Águila de papel, for which she was selected to participate in the Ikusmira Berriak artistic residency, organized by the San Sebastian International Film Festival and the Tabakalera Contemporary Culture Center; and her first fiction feature film, which is in the writing phase. Las habitaciones vacías is her first foray into fiction cinema.
