Juan G. Rodríguez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1989. Since he was a child he showed interest in cinema and literature. In 2012 he began a Bachelor Degree Program in Audiovisual Arts at the National University of the Arts (for which he is currently elaborating his thesis.) He directs, writes and edits short films, documentaries and series for his independent production company, Hostel Films, as well as for 3rd party contractors. He is currently developing more than twenty projects, some of which have received several mentions and awards, such as Best Student/University Director for his short film Scars (2016) at the 2018 FICAB; as well as the RAFMA Award for Best Argentine Short Film for When the wind whistles at the 2021 Festival Inusual.
