Juan Benitez Allassia is a researcher and audiovisual teacher at the Universidad del Cine. He holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Catholic University of Santa Fe and a Master’s Degree in Documentary Film from the Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires. He is currently part of the research project “Expanded documentaries: instructional scenes, audiovisual hybridity, exhibition cinema and designed scripts” directed by Jorge La Ferla and Mariel Szlifman (FUCCYT IC 03/21-23). She has published a recent article “Las escuelas Escuelas Documentales en América Latina” in the magazine La Cifra Impar as an extension of her graduate thesis on the Documentary School of Santa Fe. In 2018 he makes the short film “Algo está por des-aparecer” through a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Santa Fe, which premieres in 2019 at the International Documentary Film Festival (MICDOC). In 2022 he premieres in Greece his first feature documentary “El cine ha muerto” in the official competition of the 24TH Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
