Eduardo Williams (Argentina, 1987) studied at the University of Cinema in Buenos Aires and at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France in 2012. Williams’ short films Pude ver un puma (2011) and Que je tombe tout le temps? (2013) premiered at the Cinéfondation and the Directors’ Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival, followed by ¡Tôi quên rồi! (2014), which premiered at the FID Marseille. His first feature film, El auge del humano (2016), won the Golden Leopard for the best film in the Filmmakers of the Present section at the 69th Locarno Film Festival, and participated in the Toronto International Film Festival – Wavelengths, the New York Film Festival – Projections, Tate Modern and other festivals. In 2016, he directed Allons-y! (45′) for the Festival de l’Image en Mouvement Hors Pistes at the Pompidou Center. In 2019, he received the Lincoln Center’s Artists award for emerging artists. His latest short film, Parsi (2018), was produced by the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève for the 2018 Biennale de l’image en Mouvement, and premiered at the Berlinale – Forum Expanded, also being screened at Tate Modern, the Julia Stoscheck Collection, the Lincoln Center and other festivals and museums.
