Born in Buenos Aires in 1971, he received a scholarship to study at the Universidad del Cine (FUC), where he studied Art History and Playwriting. He works as a screenwriter, director, producer, and project and script supervisor. He founded Aire Cine, a small and artisanal production house dedicated to creating independent fictions and documentaries, including Las acacias (Camera D´Or, Cannes 2011), El otro (Grand Prix Du Jury, Berlinale 2006), and A Sense of Home (a collective film featuring Naomi Kawase, Jia Zhang-Ke, Apichapong Weerasethakul, Joon-ho Bong, and Jonas Mekas, among others). His filmography includes the movies Sólo por hoy (2001), a FUC + HBF thesis film premiered in the Panorama section of Berlinale; El otro (2006), also premiered at Berlinale (Official Competition 21), where it won the Grand Jury Prize and the Best Actor Award; and La luz incidente (2016), presented at the Toronto International Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and which won the Best Film Award from the International Federation of Film Press (Argentina).
