BIO

Amparo is a filmmaker who graduated from national Film School (ENERC, as per its Spanish acronym). Originally from Mar del Plata, she currently resides in Buenos Aires and is a mother of two children. She has directed the short films VHS (Víctor Hasta Siempre) (which participated in the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and received an award at the Curtas Metragems Festival in Sao Paulo), Correo nocturno, and Las monedas de oro que financiaron el descoque. Her documentary short, Furia travesti: Una historia de traVajo, has been widely showcased at LGBTQ+ film festivals. She coordinates the film department at the Kirchner Cultural Center and works as a documentary teacher while directing documentary series for television. Her first feature-length documentary, Malamadre, received support from the Ibermedia and EAVE programs. La tara is her second feature-length documentary. She is currently developing Voraz – un ensayo sobre el deseo, and La enemiga (co-directed with Cecilia del Valle).
