Agustina Pérez Rial

BIO

Born in Mar del Plata in 1982, she is a producer and audiovisual director with a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, a diploma in Cultural Management the National University of San Martín, and a master’s degree in Discourse Analysis, also from the University of Buenos Aires. She has been part of various academic research groups on the intersection of semiotics, audiovisual studies, and gender. She is co-editor of the book Tránsitos de la mirada. Mujeres que hacen cine en Argentina (Libraria, 2014). In 2016, she was one of the curators of the University Torcuato Di Tella’s Artist Program, and a year later participated in the Film Program at the same institution. Since 2017, she has directed Fiørd studio, specializing in audiovisual work with archives. She co-directed with Natalia Labaké the short film Los Arcontes (2020, 35th Mar del Plata International Film Festival); and is currently developing the series Archivos compartidos (co-directed with Maayan Feldman and Ivo Aichenbaum) and Diario de un golpe. Danubio is her first feature film as director and producer.
