BIO

Tatiana Mazú González was born in Buenos Aires in 1989. She lives on the outskirts of the city, among cats and plants, in what used to be her grandmother’s house. She is a documentary-experimental filmmaker and visual artist. She is a feminist and leftist activist, who once wanted to be a biologist or geographer: today her imagery explores the links between people and spaces, the microscopic and the immense, the personal and the political, the childish and the dark. She films, photographs, draws, designs, and sews. She is part of the Antes Muerto Cine collective. She co-directed El estado de las cosas (2012) with Joaquín Maito. Her short film La Internacional (2015) was screened in 40 international festivals. She directed Caperucita roja (2019) and Río turbio (Prix Georges de Beauregard FID Marseille 2020). She was part of Silbando Bembas, a militant film collective. Her films have been selected in FID Marseille, Mar del Plata International Film Fest, FICUNAM, Doc Lisboa, Festifreak, Transcinema, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, SEMINCI, among many other festivals. She is an editor, together with Manuel Embalse, of Retrato de propietarios by Joaquín Maito (Best Debut Film at IDFF Ji.hlava 2018).
