Roberto Persano was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1976. He holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, and studied Documentary Filmmaking with Pino Solanas, Fernando Birri and Tristán Bauer at thr National University of San Martín. In 2006 he founded thr Estudio Sigil production company, from which he has produced six feature film documentaries: We Are Winning: Journalism & Censorship during the Malvinas War (2005), The Almafuerte (2009), Nicaragua, a Generation’s Dream (2012), Taking a Part for The Whole (2015), The Indalos (2019), and An Honest Look (2022), all programmed and awarded at different festivals around the world. He is a member of Argentina’s Documentary Filmmakers Association (DOCA, as per its Spanish acronym).
