Federico Luis Tachella was born in Buenos Aires in 1990. He studied Social Communication at the University of Buenos Aires. In 2018, he filmed Mirko, his first short film, which won the Audiovisual Prize from the National Arts Fund and premiered at the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI). His short film La siesta had its international premiere at the Official Short Film Competition of the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. It was also honored with an Honorable Mention in the Shortcuts section of the Toronto International Film Festival and won the award for the best short film at BAFICI 2019. Quedate quieto o te amo won the award for best short film at the Mar Del Plata International Film Festival in 2023. His short film En el mismísimo momento won the award for Best Documentary Short Film in the International Short Film Competition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in 2023. The short film Cómo ser Pehuen Pedre will premiere at Visions Du Reel in 2024. He is currently developing his first feature film, Simón de la montaña.
