Franca González was awarded the Konex Prize 2021 in Documentary Cinema. This award is shared with Andrés Di Tella, Néstor Frenkel, Daniel Rosenfeld, and Sergio Wolf, recognized as the 5 most prominent Argentine documentary filmmakers of the last decade. She studied Arts at the University of Buenos Aires and furthered her training in authorial documentary filmmaking. Her films have been recognized by institutions such as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Argentina, the Ibermedia Program, the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, UNESCO, the Japan Foundation, the Cervantes Institute in New York, Argentores, and the Sponsorship Program of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, among others. She has competed in numerous international festivals, including BAFICI, DocLisboa, Málaga, Toulouse, Vancouver, Catalonia, Havana, Montreal, and Leipzig, among others. She was a grant recipient from the National Fund for the Arts, the Quebec Arts and Letters Council (Canada), and the Canadian Studies Program. She directed and produced the feature films Atrás de la vía (2006), Liniers, el trazo simple de las cosas (2010), Totem (2013), Al fin del mundo (2014), Miró. Las huellas del olvido (2018), and Apuntes desde el encierro (2022). She has worked as a director of photography and cinematographer for her own films and for directors María Victoria Menis and Carole Laganière. She is currently working on her seventh film: Vinci / Cuerpo a cuerpo.
