The mass media were invaded by the Lacrimal culture. Internet, television and radio were interrupted by an invading signal. An image flooded the screens: nothing like it had ever been seen before. It is the Narcissus. Only Lava can break the cultural blockade. Lava is also an extraterrestrial culture, forming a resistance on earth, using alternative means of dissemination. In the end Deborah realizes that Lava and the Lachrymal Culture were the same: one appealing to the mainstream media, the other to minorities. Both were invaders.
