Golondrina, a righteous countryman, of whom it is said that he inspired the zamba Mi luna cautiva, returns as an old man to his home-town. He is coming to confront an old rival with whom he disputed the love of a woman who no longer lives, but whom they both find in the living portrait of her daughter.
