Luis Camargo

BIO

He holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires and a degree in Audiovisual Media from the University of Tierra del Fuego. He works as a screenwriter and film director. He was the winner of the 16th edition of the Brief Stories Contest of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA, as per its Spanish acronym) with the short film Insilios, exiliados en el interior, which participated in more than 50 official selections at festivals and won 15 international awards. His feature film script Inocencia culpable was selected at the Havana International Film Festival in 2019 and awarded by the Association of Film Directors PCI (Argentina) in its MaPa Federal sponsorship program. He is one of the co-writers of the in development feature film Abacoraos, encerrados en la Patagonia (co-production with the Dominican Republic), which received the Development Contest award from the Tierra del Fuego Film Commission TDFilms. He wrote and directed the short films Dos que soñaron (fiction), La otra llave (fiction), Murguero del sur (documentary), and La flor en la boca (fiction). He has served as a jury member for the 2022/23 edition of the INCAA’s Brief Stories Contest.
